Food at the lodge

As the season change so does our menu here at Tiger Tops. We are very lucky to have an organic kitchen garden at our Tharu property so once every two days the freshest of vegetables get boated up to us here at Tiger Tops Jungle lodge. At the moment it is the perfect time for fresh Mushrooms so our cooks have been busy making fresh soups and mushroom pate. We are also in the season now for mangos and watermelons which are particularly delicious squeezed into juices in the morning for breakfast. We are in the process of recruiting a consultant for our food which will add an extra flare to our kitchen. Cooking in the depth of the jungle can sometimes be a difficult task but our cooks over the years have mastered the art. All the food has to cross the Rapti River before being loaded either onto elephants or jeeps for the final leg of the journey into camp. We very much believe in sourcing our food local so as much as we can we source from the local villages. Many of our suppliers have been supplying Tiger Tops for over 20 years so are also very much part of our Tiger Tops family.
