As the monsoon approaches, reptiles and amphibians become more active. Pictured here is a beautiful Ornate Flying Snake (Chrysopelea ornata). This mildly venomous snake is capable of gliding from tree to tree over short distances. Truly a sight to behold! •••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••• 📷: @gothe_z 🌏: close to #tigertopstharulodge •••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••• #snakes #snakesofinstagram #reptiles #visitnepal2020 #herpetology #herpetofauna #snakesofnepal ••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••

An integral component of Tiger Tops sustainable approach to tourism is to adhere to rigorous environmental policies aimed at reducing energy, waste and pollutants. Both our lodges have almost entirely removed single-use plastics and grow our own organic produce at our on-site farms for meals. —————————————— #tigertopskarnalilodge #luxurytravel #organic #beattheplasticpollution #tigertopstharulodge ——————————————

Feeling proud! Following successful exam results, graduates of the Tiger Tops Swiss Air Charitable School gather for a photo with their parents and teachers. Tiger Tops and our very generous donors, support every graduate through their primary and secondary education at government-run schools by providing backpacks and stationary as well as uniforms and medical care for their duration. Since the school was established in 1996 over 500 students have graduated high school and gone on to successful careers in a variety of fields. • • • #school #tigertopstharulodge #kidsofinstagram #nepal #visitnepal2020 #educatenepal

While most cats despise water, tigers love taking baths to help keep themselves cool during the hottest parts of the day. They'll submerge themselves in nearby lakes and streams, soaking for up to an hour, but neck deep only. Tigers don't like getting water in their eyes, to the point that they'll actually enter the water backwards to prevent this from happening. ———————————————————————— #tigertopskarnalilodge #tigersofinstagram #visitnepal2020 #luxurytravel #wild #savethetigers #pantheratigris ————————————————————————

TRACKING TIGERS BY THEIR SCAT. Tiger poop/scat can help to estimate the cat's numbers in the wild. The work is a "huge breakthrough" that should help conservationists protect this endangered predator. By looking for unique genetic signatures in the samples, we can identify different individual tigers. ——————————————— • • • • • ——————————————— #tigerofinstagram #tigertopskarnalilodge #tigers #prey #nepal #bardianationalpark #scat #panthera #savethetigers #nature #forest
